The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is a landmark scheme launched in 2024 by the Government of India to provide financial support for installing rooftop solar panels in residential homes. The goal is to empower 1 crore households with up to 300 units of free electricity every month.

Revised Subsidy Details (as per government notice dated February 2024):

• Up to Rs. 30,000 subsidy for systems up to 1 kW

• Rs. 60,000 for systems up to 2 kW

• Rs. 78,000 for systems up to 3 kW or higher

Eligibility:

• Indian households with a valid electricity connection

• Preference for low and middle-income families

• Application through National Portal for Rooftop Solar (https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in)
